POSITION DESCRIPTION: Clinical Science Specialist - ThyrogenLOCATION: British Columbia, Alberta, SaskatchewanREPORTING TO: National Sales Manager, EndocrinologyPOSITION SUMMARY:The ideal Thyrogen Clinical Science Specialist is highly motivated with a proven record in specialty sales, superior business acumen, effective management of resources and ability to achieve or surpass corporate goals and sales objectives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Thyrogen sales in assigned territory- Profitable management of Sales Region (revenue & expenses)- Develop and implement annual territory business plan based on market data and marketing plans. Ensure continuous follow-up and update the plan in response to changing market dynamics.- Develop territory database for all targeted customers to be used logically and nationally.- Develop and maintain customer relationships with: physicians (Endocrinologists, Nuclear Medicine Specialists, Surgeons and Radiation Oncologists), pharmacists, and nurses.- Implement regional CHE (Continuing Health Education) programs- To perform, in the prescribed fashion, all administrative duties. This includes all expense reports, marketing reports, and call reporting...- Sourcing, identifying and reporting all business and access opportunities and/or threats that may arise in the territory for appropriate action to be taken by Genzyme Canada Inc.- To successfully complete all training programs provided by Genzyme.- To maintain in good order all company property.- Be willing and able to travel approximately 40-50% of the time. Evening and weekend work will be required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

- 3 years sales representative experience in the pharmaceutical industry coupled with 1-2 years hospital selling

- Possess a successful sales career history, e.g., Positive sales to forecast record, sales awards, promotions, etc.

- Possess excellent technical aptitude and the ability to conduct disease/concept selling

- Demonstrate superb written, verbal and presentation skills

- Be computer literate including the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, databases and e-mail software
