Job Description

This position will be targeted for at least 1 year.
The Chemist will be expected to support and perform Laboratory activities that relate to finished good, bulk and raw material testing for use in production; testing of all in-coming bulk, finished goods or raw materials using USP and approved methods, managing sample flow, standards, investigations for out of specification results, communicating with the supervisor on out of specification results, and maintaining laboratory note books and forms. This individual will comply with policies, procedures, and quality standards, as well as safety and environmental regulations. The Chemist must be familiar with using the following pieces of equipment: viscometer, pH meter, densitometer, potentiometric titrator, Karl Fischer, FT-IR, Conductivity meter, TOC Analyzer, HPLC and GC. The Chemist I will perform routine laboratory testing, non-routine testing, and compendia testing independently and with minimal direction.

Requirements

Analytical Laboratory Chemist: I am looking for an experienced chemist that can support the work in the Analytical Laboratory. This lab conducts a wide variety of analytical testing for bulk product, finished product and raw materials; including wet chemistry, titrations, and HPLC & GC testing.

Qualifications

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of pharmaceutical or OTC industry raw material testing experience. Equivalent combination of work and educational experience maybe considered. Experience in USP Pharmacopoeia testing is preferred. Experience in a regulated industry is required. Excellent communication and organization skills are required. Experience performing instrumental and wet chemistry testing including titrations, GC, FT-IR, UV and other raw material testing successfully is required. Understanding cGMPs is required.

It is preferred that this candidate have strong technical writing skills and strong communication skills. This candidate will be able to handle multiple, competing priorities and work with minimal supervision to creatively accomplish technical tasks.
