The Change Management Lead – Biologics in Gaithersburg, MD will lead the development, management and delivery of an integrated Change Management Strategy that enables and supports the organization’s culture and employee engagement, growth, operational and financial performance, and reputation. This role will deliver forward-looking and real-time strategic change management and communications counsel to senior leaders, directing the implementation of change management for business initiatives and managing internal relationships across the Biologics Operations footprint, and with counterparts across Global Operations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, and implement a comprehensive Change Management Strategy, including methodologies and communications best practices
  • Leads the Biologics 2020 Change Champion Community of Practice (CoP)
  • Ensures integrated communications plans through participation in the Biologics Communication Community of Practice (CoP)
  • Provides regular and ongoing strategic counsel to Ops2020 executive sponsors and senior leaders on Change Management and Communications.
  • Identifies opportunities to enable an agile and innovative culture – through the leadership within Biologics Operations, coordinated with broader company communication channels and through processes and policies adopted by the leadership team
  • Build, maintain, and leverage relationships across the matrix to identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate the implementation and continuous monitoring of Change Management and Communications processes.
  • Supports Biologics enterprise communication activities, with a primary focus on Executive town hall meetings, quarterly performance scorecard, key strategic projects and overall Biologics Strategy progress
  • Establish and manage relationships with key senior/executive stakeholders within Biologics Operations to ensure understanding and commitment to project objectives, and development and refinement of project deliverables.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of change management and communication strategies for different programs
  • Determines the strategic value of change management resources to ensure effective and consistent messages throughout the company.
  • Ensures that the messages and communications are clear, relevant, consistent, credible and timely for all identified internal audiences.
  • Develops and implements appropriate metrics that evaluate the success and impact of internal change management and communications strategies and initiatives.
  • Leads and manages all internal crisis communications, ensuring strategy and tactical support is available to guarantee expedient dissemination of information to stakeholders
  • Understands Biologics Operations in the context of both Global Operations and AZ at-large
  • Leads development and execution of change management and communications strategies and supporting plans for major projects impacting Biologics Operations and its stakeholders
  • Interacts with site-based communicators and helps ensure consistency of communication throughout the Biologics Operations footprint
  • Leads by example with the highest standards of managing and developing people with a focus on diversity and inclusion
  • Ensures fast and flexible client support by maintaining close relationships with leadership
  • Leads, manages and develops team of external communication professionals as needed
  • Ensure streamlined transition into business areas through effective change management and communications, and ensure controlled hand-overs to users and business as usual processes


Essential Requirements

  • Business Degree
  • Experienced in leading change and a demonstrated ability to accomplish results and meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and shares critical information with project team and senior leaders.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language(relevant story telling) and in alignment with Biologics business

  • Demonstrate strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives
