The Chair of Psychiatry and Medical Director, Behavioral Health Service Line will report to the CMO Christiana Care Health System (CCHS). He/She is responsible for the leadership of the Department and Service Lines team, including 12 psychiatrists and its clinical activities. The Chair will develop a solid department infrastructure and ensure the incorporation of best practices, policies and procedures that integrate behavioral health. He/She will partner with the Corporate Director for Behavioral Health and the SVP for Vascular and Behavioral Health Services to develop and lead the vision and operational direction of behavioral health. As the Medical Director of Behavioral Health, he/she will develop and maintain the clinical expertise of the service line, which integrates the entire spectrum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services and incorporates addiction and psychiatric medicine with physical medicine.
The selected candidate will be a Board Certified Psychiatrist who possesses experience as a department leader of inpatient/outpatient and community-based behavioral health in a health system or complex medical setting. He/She will possess exemplary clinical skills; have a thorough understanding of outpatient, inpatient and independent, community-based behavioral health settings; and have a desire and commitment to work with all the above to create a more seamless patient experience. He/She will possess a patient and family centered commitment to quality and exceptional outcomes is critical to success. The selected candidate will hold an MD or DO from an accredited institution; an MBA, MHA or MPH is a plus.
