We are searching for an individual to support our in-house cell sorting needs on a full time basis. Specifically this individual will conduct sterile cell sorting using a BD Influx to support our research activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Independently operates multi-laser, high-speed cell sorter
• Responsible for routine maintenance of equipment to ensure proper working condition (i.e. cleaning optics, aligning laser, etc.).
• Available to operate sorter during regular work hours and, on occasion after 5 PM.
• Additional responsibilities might include maintenance of analytical flow cytometers, flow cytometry data analysis, and primary cell isolation.
Specific Skills and Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient at multi-color fluorescent activated cell sorting including routine maintenance, laser alignment, cleaning sorter, problem solving, and operating sorter to meet project needs.
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) or Masters of Science (M.S.) from an accredited college or university with a concentration in biology, immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, or related field; plus >5 years relevant experience, at a minimum; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with BD Sortware, FACS DiVa, or related sorting software, and FlowJo are desirable.
