Job Description   

Bio-Rad Laboratories is looking for a skilled software developer to join our Chicago area software development team. Our team works on a variety of projects and software components of medical instruments used by our customers. We use agile methodologies in a fast paced environment, acting as an internal software consulting group with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops/implements new software as part of a team.  Maintains existing software.  Assists with and/or creates modular, well-documented source code in a high level language such as  C#.  Uses formal methods and tools of software analysis and design.  May contribute to the user interface design and to the functional and design specifications of the software.  Works with software validation team to validate software.  Participates in writing technical and operational software documentation.  Participates in developing specifications for new software.  May provide direction to lower level staff.  May participate in the training and development of lower level staff.

Requirements



Basic knowledge of software design, architecture, coding languages, validation/verification, and industry standard software development practices.  Expertise in developing software in one of more software languages.  Strong software documentation, troubleshooting, problem solving, organizational, teamwork, communication, and listening skills.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or a related engineering discipline.  5+ years related experience in a C# environment.  C++ or embedded systems experience a plus.
