Leads the delivery of customer insight and analytics for the New Product Planning Franchise (NPP) that oversees the business development of assets in Cardiovascular, Metabolic and CNS therapeutic areas. The Brand Insight Director will oversee all aspects of Insight, forecasting and business development activities for multiple BD assets and will serve as the primary insight contact for data analytics and market research. This highly consultative role provides strategic business insight to the NPP leadership team to ensure that investment decisions are based on rigorous analyses using the best quality of information available. Key insights will be derived via the synthesis of the following work outputs: Commercial viability, development of Target Product Profiles, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Market Research and leading other cross functional personnel in Commercial Insight.

*Lead the delivery of business development projects to evaluate viable assets across key therapeutic areas that support the strategy of the NPP leadership team.

* Proficiency in secondary data analysis using industry sales/usage databases purchased by MedImmune (i.e., NDC, IMS, Verispan, Tandem, DaVinci, NDTI, etc.). Must be knowledgeable of other available industry databases in terms of: relevance to our products, collection methodology, sampling, coverage, etc.)
*Deep understanding of Pharma/Bio industry marketing and how market research is used to guide product commercialization and lifecycle management.
*Develop market research budget and plans for pipeline (early phase) assets.
*Manage and design qualitative and quantitative market research for pipeline products. Must have market research experience in all stages of product life cycle (i.e., pre-clinical, all phases of product development, pre-launch, launch, growth, maturity, decline).
*Utilize secondary research methods and industry resources (i.e. syndicated reports, web-sites, Redbook, etc.) to provide competitive intelligence, ad hoc information etc. Must know which resources to turn to and understand the caveats associated with them. Also, have thorough understanding and ability to provide competitive intelligence to cross-functional stakeholders.
*Utilize secondary data sources to provide market assessments on business development deals and manage and design any primary market research needed.
*Oversee primary research, forecasting, competitive intelligence and analytics, managing projects when necessary and ensuring best practice approaches are always utilized
*Work with the Pricing and Market Access team to ensure that payer insights are integrated into commercial and clinical strategy and positioning
*Work with Sr. Insight Director to efficiently manage Business Analyst resources
- BA/BS degree in relevant field required; Advanced degree (e.g. MBA) preferred.
- Minimum 8 years pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience
-Experience applying various primary research techniques and secondary to inform business decisions.
-Significant experience in completing assessments for BD deals.
-Demonstrated ability to influence laterally and vertically.
