RESPONSIBILITIES

Together with the Director of Sales and Marketing and Sr. Vice President, the incumbent will help develop the strategic business plan for Asuragen’s Genomic Services Business.  These development plans form the basis for a long-term growth strategy for the services business unit at Asuragen, Inc..  

Below are some of the specific areas of focus for this role:
•   Strategic business development and planning
•   Roll-out new applications and marketing pilot programs
•   Market research initiatives
•   Drive operational improvement by establishing best practices
•   Assess the competition
•   Other duties as required

Requirements


Key Skills:

•   In depth understanding of the pharmaceutical market especially large pharmaceutical organizations
•   Detailed knowledge and executive relationships within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry
•   Clear understanding of genomics, gene expression and biomarker utilization in clinical trials
•   Proven ability of effective written and verbal communication and listening skills
•   Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage remote employees
•   Strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction
•   Ability to effectively work on and manage many priorities at one time
•   Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and use of the Internet
•   Has an approachable manner that encourages interaction with others
•   Highly driven with a strong motivation to succeed
•   Molecular Biology based educational, lab, and sales management experience
•   Life Sciences Master’s Degree  (M.A or M.S.) from a graduate degree granting college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
