The Cardiovascular and Metabolic (CVM) Disease Area is seeking a highly qualified and motivated scientist to join the Cell Pharmacology group. The responsibilities of this position include the development and execution of cell based assays, cellular biomarker discovery, mechanism of action and target validation studies, isolation of primary cells and ex vivo tissue analysis in support of pre-clinical CVM programs. The candidate will also be expected to assist in writing of research documents, publications and presentation of data.
Qualified candidates should possess a BS/MS in biology, biochemistry, cell biology or a related field with at least 2 years of post-graduate experience. Experience in mammalian cell culture is required, and previous experience in cell based assay development and fluorescence microscopy, is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
