Job Description

The Oncology Department is seeking a highly motivated scientist to work in the Cancer Biology and Drug Discovery (CBADD) group.  We focus on the mechanisms of oncogenic pathways and apply cutting edge technologies to validate novel oncology targets and systematically identify a clear path to drug discovery.  When a clear path is established we are tasked with developing low molecular weight inhibitors for novel targets that will most benefit cancer patients.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a breadth of experience in cell and molecular biology techniques.  Experience with cancer biology and signaling pathways involved in tumor growth is required and knowledge in immune oncology is a plus.  The ability to do shRNA, CRISPR, or other genome editing techniques to interrogate cellular phenotypes is preferred.  The ideal candidate will use cell-based methods to systematically interrogate protein function including building biochemical assays, cell based signaling read outs, and mRNA and protein profiling.  This position will require outstanding technical ability at the bench, as well as excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

Requirements

The candidate should have a B.A./B.S or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or related field and a minimum of 5-10 years of industry or academic relevant experience. The position involves multiple collaborative projects so strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
