The Business Planning Leader (BPL) is responsible for driving Brand Team strategic planning, operational effectiveness, and performance through successfully partnering with the Respiratory Biologics Sales and Marketing Leadership Team.



Major Responsibilities:



Respiratory Biologics Leadership Team-      
     *Take leadership role as the liaison to US Commercial and Sales Leads to operationalize the Respiratory Biologics Organization      
     *Participate as a member of the Respiratory Biologics Leadership Team; accountable for managing the Respiratory Biologics Leadership Team agendas and managing action lists arising from those meetings      
     *Serve as a liaison between the Respiratory Biologics Leadership Team and extended team to ensure brand team deliverables meet expectations      
     *Manage strategic projects as needed and as determined by the Respiratory Biologics Leadership Team      
     *Link to areas outside of brand team for brand related questions and products including Sales, Legal, Compliance, Regulatory and Commercial Operations      
     *Lead Respiratory Biologics Team meetings and support CBL/EBD meetings and CPM meetings      
     *Team building events      
     *Lead brand team resource planning (e.g., resource analysis and expense forecasting)      
     *Participate in Field Rides



Strategic & Operational Planning-      
     *Lead, manage and contribute to all key aspects of the Respiratory Biologics Teams' strategic and operational planning resulting in the development of an integrated brand strategy and aligned operational plans


*Ensure all Strategic and Brand Planning processes and tools are well understood and effectively utilized by brand team members such that all deliverables consistently meet or exceed expectations for time and quality      
     *Accountable for driving the process, ensuring that key milestones are met, core deliverables are created/updated and that output from the process is used to create a Therapy area plan and refresh the Product Strategic Plan (PSP)


*Ensure the incorporation of new customer insights and advance the team’s thinking relative to opportunities and threats and to establish Strategic Drivers


*Champion adoption and drive integration of 'new practices' into team's thinking during strategic and operational planning      
     *Prepare outputs of PSP process and participate in presentations and recommendations to leadership      
     *Lead the Operational Planning Process (ICAP) on behalf of the Brand team


*Lead development and update process for Brand Scorecard and Quarterly Priorities



     *Finance -- work closely with brand finance to ensure business planning timeline and due dates are synchronized with ABU/RBU calendar and that information shared between Finance and Business Planning is efficiently and effectively available/transferred      
     *Lead budget planning and management across the Respiratory Biologics Organization


*Support development of extended team


*Provide analytic support for Brand team-specific portfolio review activities, and provide insights on the content to enable identification of cross-portfolio issues and opportunities as part of the cross-portfolio analysis and review for Sr. Leadership      
     *Lead/manage special projects as needed




Minimum Requirements:

*Bachelor's degree      
     *5-7 years pharmaceutical experience      
     *Project and process management expertise      
     *Understanding of forecasts, budgets, financial processes and tools      
     *Understanding of AZ portfolio planning processes      
     *Understanding of the pharmaceutical business (including development and operations)      
     *Cross-functional team experience      
     *Experience in project management and strategic planning processes and tools      
     *Strong interpersonal, communication (written and oral), organizational, relationship building, and consulting skills



Preferred Background:      
     *Experience working in a collaboration      
     *MBA or equivalent experience      
     *Finance experience      
     *Brand planning and marketing leadership experience      
     *Understanding of Decision Analysis techniques      
     *Understanding of Process Engineering techniques      
     *Experience in translating business needs into system requirements, process improvements and implementations      
     *Results-orientation with ability to develop creative and simple solutions to complex problems
