Description

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a highly motivated collaborative Scientist that enjoys working in a fast paced work environment. The successful candidate will play an essential role in OncoMed’s Translational Medicine Group leading key in vivo pharmacology and biomarker studies in support of OncoMed’s clinical pipeline.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates and hands on efforts on evaluating the in vivo activity of OnocoMed’s antibody therapeutics in primary human xenograft models, with a primary focus on predictive biomarkers and PK/PD studies.
• Develop and lead studies in understanding factors that govern the in vivo activity of OncoMed’s antibodies to determine the relevance of these factors to clinical settings.
• Manage Translational Medicine and biomarker studies within OncoMed Research as well as academic and industry collaborators
• Works within a matrix environment, collaborating with research and clinical teams

Requirements

REQUIREMENETS & ACTIVITIES:
• A Ph.D. in cancer biology or pharmacology with 5-10 years experience. Prior biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
• A proven track record of utilizing pre-clinical animal models to evaluate biologics providing proof-of-concept to support therapeutic potential
• A desire to work with small animals
• In depth understanding in the state of the art methods available in preclinical evaluation of biologics for treating cancer.
• Perform molecular characterization and biomarker assays including western-blot and/or real-time PCR studies
• Excellent skills in written and oral communication and working in an interactive, collaborative and cross-functional research environment.
• Effective manager and leader.
• Critical problem-solving, multitasking and quantitative analysis skills a must
• Familiarity with statistical analysis
• A strong publication and patent record
