Job Description

The candidate will be in the bioinformatics group of F1 Oncology, a growing biotechnology company, at the corporate headquarters in West Palm Beach, Florida. His/her main role will be to analyze Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data but may include other types of data analysis, as well as in silico bio-engineering as needed.

The company is a venture and corporate funded biotechnology company focused on developing cancer medicines using cutting edge technologies, with operations in Florida, Asia and the West Coast.

Duties will include:

Analyze NGS data using cloud-based pipelines
Develop customized algorithms for bioinformatic data processing as needed
Use various web-based, cloud-based and local bioinformatics tools
Search, retrieve and analyze datasets from public databases
Provide support with NGS statistical data analysis
Write reports and communicate results verbally
Interact with CROs to develop appropriate tools for high throughput data analysis
Cooperate with the rest of the team to optimize data analysis workflows


Minimal requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
1-3 years of experience working with NGS data, and a good understanding of the benefits and limitations of NGS platforms
Practice with NGS data analysis tools and file manipulation
Strong computer/programming skills in Python, C++, Perl or equivalent
Experience with R Bioconductor
A good understanding of molecular biology and bio-engineering
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to quickly adapt to changing work priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Additional desirable skills and experience:

An understanding of the biotechnology discovery process
Understanding and knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
