The North Shore-LIJ Department of Family Medicine is looking for a BC Family Medicine Residency Program Director to assume responsibility for the ACGME accredited Hofstra NS-LIJ Family Medicine Residency Program at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, NY.
The Family Medicine Residency Program Director will report to the Chair of Family Medicine and hold responsibility for the direction of the inpatient and outpatient educational curriculum, of this Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited Family Medicine Residency Program, as well as the education of Medical Students in the specialty of Family Medicine. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and patient-centered care, and will be eligible for academic appointment at the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine.
The Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency program at Southside Hospital is proud of its' past four decades of excellence in teaching our 27 residents per year. This well-established residency program has graduated over 300 family physicians. Our alumni excel in various positions (academic, administrative, clinical, and research) across the country. Our residency is one of five programs in New York State to have a voting chapter at the NYS Academy of Family Physicians. Our faculty and residents belong to various medical societies that promote the issues of family medicine. We take pride in the fact that over the last 40 years, we continue to grow and provide new opportunities for our residents to learn.
This position is based at Southside Hospital is located in a beautiful waterfront community on the south shore of Long Island in Bay Shore, New York.
