Job Summary

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan is recruiting a clinician-scientist faculty member at the rank of assistant professor in the tenure-track.

The successful candidate will have a program of clinical translational research in the area of bipolar disorder. The applicant must have evidence of success in obtaining external funding and publishing their work in high-impact journals. Previous experience working in a multi-disciplinary medical school setting and multi-center clinical trials is preferred. This position will closely interface with the extensive clinical and research activities within the Department of Psychiatry, and across the UM Medical School and university campus through the UM Comprehensive Depression Center. Current department research strengths include neuroimaging, genetics, longitudinal studies in mood disorders, perinatal mental health and substance use disorders.

Clinical duties will be assigned to provide and/or manage clinical psychiatric services. Teaching activities will include supervising medical students, residents and nurse practitioners. Attendance at scientific conferences and committees, and publishing scholarly work is required

Qualifications
Applicants must hold MD/DO, must be board-eligible, and preferably board-certified in Psychiatry. Faculty appointments require review and approval by the Medical School Executive Committee.

Eligibility for full medical staff membership under the Bylaws of the University Medical Staff including current Michigan physician license, Michigan Controlled Substance license and Federal DEA license. Medical Staff privileges must remain current and be compliant with the continuing education and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated competence in teaching and scholarly activity is required.

Note: This position is posted as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor. The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon candidate's qualifications.
