Description

We have an opening for a talented and motivated Associate Scientist to join the Therapeutic Innovation Unit at Amgen in South San Francisco.  The objective of the Therapeutic Innovation Unit (TIU) is to develop technology platforms and exploit insights into complex biological problems with potential applications across a broad range of therapeutic areas including oncology, inflammation, neuroscience and metabolic disorders.  The successful candidate will be expected to work within a multi-disciplinary team in a highly collaborative environment and to conduct discovery and validation efforts, with a focus on cell-based assays. Preferred Qualifications- The successful candidate should have extensive experience in mammalian tissue culture and be familiar with standard molecular and cell biological techniques.  - Experience in the following techniques would be desirable: primary cell culture, cell-based assay development, expression construct and cell line generation, in vivo animal models and flow cytometry.
- Background in Immunology preferred.  - The candidate should possess excellent analytical and quantitative thinking skills, quick learning abilities and a passion for science.
- Strong teamwork, organizational skills, attention to detail, as well as written and oral communication skills are essential.  Master's degree & 2 years of  scientific  experienceORBachelor's degree & 4 years of  scientific  experience
