Associate Scientist (Protein Sciences)

Precision Immune, Inc., a growing San Francisco-based immuno-oncology company focused on novel approaches to generate anti-tumor immunity, is seeking a qualified Associate Scientist who will play an integral role in moving our discovery research efforts into the clinic.   We are seeking talented and motivated team members to support our research efforts in developing third generation immuno-oncology therapeutics.    The successful candidate will be responsible for providing protein chemistry support including protein production and analysis to support ongoing research.  

Specific Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
•   Protein production using transient and stable mammalian transfection methodologies
•   Protein purification using various methods
•   Bioanalytical and functional characterization of antigens and antibodies
•   Stability and pre-formulation studies on antibody candidates

Requirements

Requirements:
•   Bachelors or Masters in a life sciences discipline with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in an industrial pharmaceutical/biotechnology or academic lab setting. Candidate applications with Doctorate degree will not be reviewed
•   Expected to be proficient in various techniques of protein purification including affinity, ion exchange, gel filtration, and reverse phase chromatographies
•   Experience in purification of antibodies, tagged proteins, and protein complexes  
•   Experience with protein characterization techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, analytical SEC, and RP-HPLC is also required
•   Experience with protein labeling (i.e. biotinylation, fluorophore labeling) would be a plus
•   Experience with kinetic and thermodynamic measurements using SPR or BLI and data interpretation is highly preferred
•   Experience in molecular biology is desired
•   Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting and quantitative analytical skills
•   Demonstrated ability to effectively and collaboratively work in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple activities
•   Strong communication skills both written and oral with demonstrated ability to present ideas and information and data effectively via one on one discussions and team meetings
