Dart Neuroscience (DNS) is seeking a Research Associate/Associate Scientist to support target engagement assays for the evaluation of novel small molecules that enhance cognition and for biomarker exploration. The successful candidate will have a scientific background in neuroscience and pharmacology. Hands-on experience using both in vitro and in vivo approaches for CNS targets is highly recommended. The candidate should have proven skillsets in working with preclinical animal models. The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in animal handling of both rats and mice and in different routes of drug administration (ip, po, sc) in both rats and mice. The candidate must also be proficient in rats and mice brain tissue collection, microdissection, surgery, perfusion, behavioral training. The candidate should be able to carry out in vitro assays with precision and reliability. The candidate will be working in a creative, fast-paced environment, interacting with scientists from other disciplines such as biology and DMPK. The position requires team-oriented execution of time-dependent experiments, thus, the candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate with other members of the team. The candidate will be involved in the designing, execution, and data analysis of in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experiments. The candidate must be organized and timely with regard to data collection, meeting presentations and study reports.
-BS with 4+yr experience or MS with 2+ years of experience in a Neuroscience-related discipline; Industry experience is highly recommended;
-Strong hands-on in vivo skills with demonstrated proficiency in animal handling, dosing (specifically; ip, po, sc), behavioral training and brain tissue and and collection (rats and mice);
-Hands-on experience with in vitro assays (RNA and protein analysis, including PCR, qPCR, WB, ELISA etc), ISH, IHC, primary cell culture;
-Capability of trouble-shooting and assay development;
-Capability of data analysis independently and critically and maintenance of ELN
-Good organization and prioritization skills, delivers results that meet timelines, and maintains experimental records/reports accurately and timely;
-Team-oriented with excellent communication skills (oral, written); Strong work ethic with a can-do attitude.
