   Main Duties and Responsibilities  

 

   Scope  

 
       
  •      The successful candidate will work in the Late Stage Characterization Group within the Analytical Sciences Department.     
  •    
  •      Candidate will carry out detailed characterization of biopharmaceutical products, such as humanized monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, and recombinant proteins.    
  •    
  •      Candidate will write characterization reports, quality attribute summary reports, draft BLA and prepare regulatory responses.    
  •    
  •      Candidate will also be responsible for product variant isolation / enrichment and characterization, identification of protein degradation pathways, structure-functional analysis, and determination of critical quality attributes.    
  •    
  •      Candidate will work on complex and technically demanding projects where analysis of data requires an evaluation of multiple variables.    
  •    
  •      Candidate will make detailed experimental observations, review and analyze data, interpret experimental results, and summarize for presentations and reports.     
  •    
  •      Candidate will present scientific data to both internal audiences within the company and external scientific colleagues.     
  •    
  •      Candidate will follow SOPs, policies, and regulations, and to perform routine lab equipment maintenance is required.     
  •    
  •      Position will require constant collaborative interactions with co-workers across functional groups, he/she must be able to work in a matrix structure and interface with different groups within research and development.

Requirements

   Essential Requirements  

 

   Education  

       
  •      BS, MS, Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry    
  •  

   Experience  

 
       
  •      BS degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience    
  •    
  •      MS degree with 3-6 years of relevant experience    
  •    
  •      PhD degree with 0-3 years relevant experience      
  •  

   Knowledge  

 
       
  •      Protein chemistry, including structural characterization using a variety of analytical techniques.    
  •    
  •      Analytical techniques such as such as HPLC, gel electrophoresis, cIEF, and mass spectrometry.    
  •    
  •      Knowledge on protein function and bioassay is preferred.    
  •    
  •      Excellent writing skill is essential for this role.    
  •  
 

   Desirable Requirements  

 
       
  •      Great teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written, are critical.    
  •    
  •      Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills are required.    
  •    
  •      Time/project management and regulatory filing experience is desirable.    
  •  

   Interpersonal Communication  

 
       
  •      Excellent writing, verbal and listening skills.  Presentations/reports to senior management and high-level industry audiences.
