Main Duties and Responsibilities
This position can be filled at either the Associate Scientist II or Scientist I level depending upon experience.
You will be expected to design and execute detailed characterization of protein, including product variant isolation / enrichment and characterization, identification of protein degradation pathways, structure-functional correlation, and determination of critical quality attributes. You will be responsible for development and optimization of analytical methods and testing to progress development of therapeutic proteins. Make detailed experimental observations, review and analyze data, and interpret experimental results. You will author technical report and regulatory filings for clinical trials and marketing applications. Provide cross-functional support to formulation development, upstream and downstream development. Represent the analytical development group on analytical method transfer and validation teams at commercial QC lab. Represent the analytical development group on CMC team. Present scientific data to both internal audiences within the company and external scientific colleagues. Follow SOPs, policies, and regulations, and to perform routine lab equipment .
•Associate Scientist II: BS Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field with eight to ten years of experience or MS Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field with five to eight years of experience
•Scientist I: BS Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field with ten to thirteen years of experience or MS Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field with eight to ten years of experience or Ph.D. Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field with zero to three years of experience or Ph.D candidate to be graduated by end of 2016
•Experience in an industrial analytical function working with therapeutic proteins characterization are highly desirable.
•Strong understanding of biochemistry and protein chemistry
•Working experience with HPLC, UPLC instruments from different vendors.
•LC method developments (RPLC, Affinity, HILIC, glycan analysis).
•Experience with LC-MS for routine protein characterization such as peptide mapping, intact mass analysis.
•Familiar with electrophoresis methods such as cIEF, CGE, and instrument operation.
•Good multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills are essential
•Possess excellent verbal and written skills
•Effective and collaborative cross-functional team member in a fast-paced goal-oriented environment
•Knowledge of QbD concept and biostatistics tools for method optimization.
•Familiar with JMP or other software
