Main Duties and Responsibilities

As the Associate Scientist II/Scientist I, you will be focused on developing GMP friendly process for T-cell therapy products such as CAR-Ts. You will work in a matrix environment in the upstream process development department that focusses on the process development of cell therapy, viral therapy and mammalian cell culture based products. This role also involves interacting and working closely with research teams from relevant therapeutic areas.   You will be expected to have industrial experience in developing and optimizing unit operations relevant to T-cell therapy products. The job will involve design of experiments, execution of experiments and relevant assays in the lab, statistical analysis of data, recording of experiments in lab notebook, writing reports, presenting in meetings, working with external vendors and CMOs as well as contribute in CMC teams as appropriate. You will be expected to maintain current knowledge of scientific literature as well as take initiative to identify and solve scientific and technical challenges of the field. While you will work in a focused cell therapy team under the direction and general supervision from manager, a high degree of independence and ownership is expected in this role. Due to the nature of cell-based experiments, occasional weekend and holiday work is required.


Essential Requirements

Associate Scientist II:

  • Relevant experience of greater than 5 years with a Masters degree OR greater than 7 years with a Bachelor's degree in process development and/or manufacturing of cell therapy products.
  • Industrial experience in process development for T-cell therapy products is a requirement.

Scientist I:

  • Relevant experience of greater than 8 years with a Masters degree OR greater than 10 years with a Bachelor's degree in process development and/or manufacturing of cell therapy products.
Desirable Requirements
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques with expertise in unit operations involved in T-cell therapy processes is required. Understanding of clinical practices such as collection of apheresis product and administration of cell therapy product is beneficial. Proficiency in MS Office and related programs are also considered a must. Additional desirable skills include flow analysis, knowledge of Design of Experiments, statistical data analysis, and molecular biology skills.
