AstraZeneca Biologics currently has an opening for an Associate Scientist II within its Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) Analytical team in Frederick, MD. This position is laboratory-centered and is responsible for performing method optimization, transfer, and validation; process and product characterization; and in-process and investigative testing. The primary focus of the position is immunoassays (ELISA, Gyrolab, etc.); an ideal candidate would also be familiar with most common analytical techniques for biologics. The candidate will analyze data, interpret results and compile reports exercising technical discretion commensurate with formal training and experience. In addition, the candidate will coordinate and author technical documents supporting analytical method development, qualification, transfer and validation of late-stage biologicals. This is an individual contributor position.
The candidate will have an understanding of large-molecule analytical methodologies and be an expert in immunoassays as evidenced by formal training and industrial experience with biologics.
*B.S., B.A., M.S. (or equivalent) in analytical chemistry, biological sciences, biotechnology, physical sciences, or similar fields
