   Main Duties and Responsibilities  


   The main duties for this position are to independently conduct experiments that include production and characterization of antibodies containing novel chemical functionality. You will be an organized an effective bench scientist capable of designing and conducting experiments, interpreting data, and communicating results. You are expected to maintain accurate and timely laboratory notebooks and present updates to project teams. The position requires the ability to embrace new technologies quickly and work confidently in cutting-edge areas of research to enable new discoveries.  

   Essential requirements  

  •      A strong background in molecular and cell biology.    
  •      Hands-on experience with antibody expression and purification.    
  •      Ability to perform biophysical characterization of antibodies to determine binding constants, isoelectric points, thermal stability, etc.    
  •      Hands on experience with some or all of the following techniques; size-exclusion chromatography; reverse phase chromatography; hydrophobic interaction chromatography; spectroscopy; mass spectrometry, ELISA, FACS, BIAcore.    
  •      Experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning, site-direct mutagenesis, DNA isolation and purification, RT-PCR and qPCR    
  •      Proven ability to work efficiently and productively in a highly dynamic team environment.    
  •      Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.    
  •      Strong motivation, attention to detail, ability to think independently, and strong problem-solving skills.    
  •      Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.    




   Bachelors of Science Degree or Masters of Science Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field. Hands on laboratory experience in molecular biology, protein chemistry, antibody or protein engineering is required  

   Associate Scientist I: Bachelors of Science Degree with five to eight years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or a Masters of Science Degree with two to five years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.  

   Associate Scientist II: Bachelors of Science Degree with eight to ten years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or a Masters of Science Degree with five to eight years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. Recent Ph.D. graduates will also be considered.  

   Desirable Requirements  

  •      Experience with non-natural amino acids.    
  •      Experience with bioconjugation.    
  •      Interest in applying chemical approaches to alter the properties of biomolecules.
