Job Description


CytomX Therapeutics is unlocking the potential of antibody therapeutics in oncology by developing a novel therapeutic antibody class of highly targeted Probody™ therapeutics.  

Reporting to the Vice President, Program and Alliance Management, this position requires a strong scientific background with the understanding and experience in biotech/drug development and project management having brought projects from discovery through clinical development. Experience with biologics is highly desired. We seek a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as excellent cross-functional team and influencing skills.

Requirements:

•   For the organization’s research and development projects, develop functionally integrated plans with realistic timelines, budgets and resources planning to achieve project milestones/goals
•   Monitor and track the projects against approved timelines and milestones, and ensure adherence to agreed-upon team objectives and deliverables
•   In collaboration with project leaders, facilitate and lead project team meetings, including the creation of effective meeting agendas, and documentation of decisions, action items and issues
•   Work with scientific leadership to help define project development strategies, and drive successful execution of projects
•   Ensure quality and accuracy of project specific planning data, challenge assumptions and timelines as needed
•   In concert with Vice President, Program and Alliance Management, develop risk assessment and contingency planning for projects, including issue identification, resolution, escalation
•   Facilitate cross-functional alignment and organizational support for project plans
•   With guidance from the Vice President Program and Alliance Management, manage and influence team members and stakeholders [up-down-across, and as required with partners and CROs] to facilitate efficient project progress
•   Partner with supervisor to manage project governance processes including project reviews
•   With guidance from Vice President, Program and Alliance Management, implement improvements to project management processes, tools and infrastructure
•   For clinical program core and subteam meetings – support Vice President, Program and Alliance Management in management and tracking of team activities
•   Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with respect to priorities and self
•   Expert planning and tracking skills, able to foresee plan pinch points and help teams in managing plans that deliver
•   Can move with ease between the strategic and tactical in support of project teams

Requirements


Qualifications:

•   Doctoral degree in biology, chemistry, or related scientific discipline preferred, with 5+ years in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
•   MS or BS in biology, chemistry, or related scientific discipline with 10+ years in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry
•   At least 2 years performing project management related activities within the biotech/drug development
•   Some experience in use of diverse PM tools, including MS Project, Office suite, document management systems (e.g. SharePoint, ShareFile, Box) to help project teams manage and advance activities
•   Excellent cross-functional team and relationship building skills
•   Previous work and leadership experience in multidisciplinary biotech/drug development teams
•   Experience of biotech/drug development process from discovery into clinical development
•   Experienced influence and communication skills, effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders
•   Good conflict management skills
•   Ability to critically analyze and guide project teams in reconciling technical / business information
•   Capable of managing multiple projects, excellent time management with respect to priorities and self-management
•   Demonstrated leadership skills in project team environments
•   Strong verbal communication, expert in written communications
