ABOUT RIGEL:
Rigel is a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development of novel, targeted drugs in the therapeutic areas of immunology, oncology and immuno-oncology. Rigel's pioneering research focuses on signaling pathways that are critical to disease mechanisms. Our business strategy is to transition to a commercial-stage company with our Phase 3 results from fostamatinib in immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP); Rigel has submitted an NDA. We continue to build an extensive portfolio of products in immunology and oncology, monetizing select assets through attractive partnerships. The Associate Director, Medical Marketing will be a key member of the Marketing department advancing Rigel’s commercial programs.


POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Director, Medical Marketing will be responsible for the strategy and implementation of peer to peer commercial efforts to support overall Company and Brand objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
•   Strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive promotional education plan
•   Providing key market insights through the development of productive and enduring KOL and HCP relationships
•   Leading commercial advisory board strategy and execution
•   Developing and managing a promotional speaker bureau
•   Managing regional and national medical meetings
•   Ability to execute promotional educational programs thru different personal and non-personal channels
•   Collaborate with hematology and oncology medical societies and/or GPOs to partner on various regional medical meetings
•   Project management and effectively managing multiple projects/ priorities
•   Management of agencies/vendors
•   Budget management and disciplined approach with resource allocation
•   Extensive collaboration with cross-functional partners, particularly Medical Affairs

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:  
•   10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical or healthcare experience, hematology and oncology marketing and sales experience required
•   Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both Academic and Community thought leaders
•   Advanced experience with product lifecycle management is desirable
•   Commercial hematology or oncology launch experience preferred ability to process a great deal of information in a fast-paced environment
•   Strong team player and motivated individual contributor
•   Strong written and oral communication skills
•   Highly professional person with high ethical standards and integrity
•   Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields (required); MBA (preferred)
•   Position will require significant travel pre-launch (e.g., key customer engagement, advisory boards, medical conferences, home office visits, etc.).  Travel post-launch is approx. 35-50%.
