Position description:
We are seeking a talented, motivated, and goal-oriented individual to join Ironwood’s Commercial Program Management team. The successful applicant will play an important role in supporting Ironwood’s commercial team in their quest to bring new human medicines to market.  The focus will be to partner with Sales, Sales Operations and Managed Markets leadership to plan and manage efforts supporting our newly launched product.  This individual will work closely with internal cross functional teams and with Ironwood’s commercial partners to ensure clarity of strategy, to lead and manage specific projects, and to facilitate communication across all parties.   The ideal candidate will have experience with the launch and commercialization of new pharmaceutical products, in addition to a sound working knowledge of the key functions of mid to late stage drug development.  This role is highly cross-functional, and will also involve close interaction with other pharmaceutical companies that are our development and commercialization partners. This position will report to the Senior Director of Commercial Program Management.

Responsibilities:
*  Partner with Sales and Market Access leadership to understand goals and strategies;  work with teams build and manage detailed plans for field sales, sales operations, sales training, and managed markets initiatives aligned to goals and strategies
*  Ensure integration of Sales and Market Access plans with broader commercialization and brand plans; lead specific sub team efforts
*  Anticipate issues or risks and facilitate appropriate mitigation plans or resolution;
*  Facilitate communication, collaboration and alignment internally and with US and global partners;  track and manage progress with partners, support governance forums
*  Support assessment of and planning for new commercial opportunities (partners, products, territories);  
*  Develop communications and presentations relating to critical path activity timing, status, resources required, and related issues and/or risks; communicate both internally and with partners as appropriate;
*  Identify and communicate deviations from planned timing, budget, and/or scope that have the potential to impact project success;
*  Organize and facilitate team meetings; identify topics and set agendas, ensure appropriate meeting materials are available, facilitate discussion, identify actions and provide follow up in form of meeting notes and action items.  
*  Partner with finance to develop  and manage budgets, forecasts, financials
*  Work with commercial IT partners to ensure integration of commercial IT/infrastructure plans with functional plans;
*  Maintain tools for internal and external communication about program goals and progress (SharePoint sites, program summary documents, etc.);
*  Partner with commercial PM team members to continue to build and evolve the commercial program management capability for Ironwood; create and improve upon tools to harmonize program management processes at Ironwood; train new employees.

Requirements

*  B.S. or higher degree (M.S. or MBA preferred);
*  5-8  years of relevant experience as a team leader of mid to late-stage development programs and/or commercialization efforts in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry  
*  Strong team leadership and program management skills with demonstrated experience:  
*  Working with teams to clarify vision and direction;
*  Partnering with team members to developing plans to meet goals;
*  Managing teams to meet goals and deliverables, tracking progress toward plan;
*  Highlighting areas of risk and developing mitigation plans;
*  Identifying options and facilitating decisions to enable projects to move forward;
*  Demonstrated commercial experience:
*  Commercializing new pharmaceutical products in the U.S. and knowledge of sales, marketing and managed care efforts required to support a successful launch and growing product
*  Working with sales leadership to design and implement new sales teams
*  Partnering and/or co-promoting with external companies
*  Working closely with team leaders who are not based at home office
*  Launching new products in international markets is a plus
*  Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
*  Proven ability to work well with others in a proactive, positive, and constructive manner;
*  Passion to achieve project goals/milestones, commitment to meet and improve established timelines, and desire to maintain and affirm a results-oriented culture;
*  Ability to plan and facilitate effective, efficient meetings;
*  Strong computer skills, highly proficient in use of the Microsoft Office Suite; especially Excel, Word, Project and Project Server, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
