Role Description
Using electrophysiological and/or behavioral endpoints, design and conduct in vivo studies characterizing the pharmacological interactions of drugs with their molecular targets. Generation of quantitative data sufficient to characterize and drive decisions on novel compounds.

Responsibilities
Conduct hands on in vivo work including electrophysiological recordings and behavioral testing in rodents. Will be responsible for gathering necessary information prior to each study, preparing and administering drugs, conducting the study and delivering data. Will work closely with other team members. Generates and analyzes data, ideas, processes or tools and may on occasion presents own work at meetings when needed. Self-sufficient contributor to own working group or project. Interprets experimental outcomes to impact drug discovery process. Reviews literature to identify new or optimize current assays, methods, technologies, or process. Authors internal reports or posters; may contribute to external publications or posters.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
BA/BS with 1-3 years lab work experience

Technical Skills Requirements:
Basic: Required skills include rodent handling, drug preparation, dosing and behavioral assessment. Data analysis including statistical and graphic analysis of data.
Evidence of strong communication, both verbal and written.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to excel in a collaborative environment, working both as an individual and as part of a team.

Preferred: Prior experience with in vivo anaesthetized or freely moving rat electrophysiology and stereotaxic surgery/brain injections. Experience with MatLab or LabView software for electrophysiological data acquisition and analysis.
