Summary & Scope of Position:  

Performs development activities in support of multiple projects.

Primary Responsibilities:  

•   Execute experiments, make observations, analyze data and interpret results, either independently or as a team member.
•   Perform assays for measuring the quality of red blood cells, plasma, and platelets.
•   Participate in the validation of new methods.
•   Maintain laboratory instruments.
•   Draft summary reports, protocols and quantitative analyses.
•   Frequently presents results at departmental meetings.
•   Maintain high level of expertise through familiarity with current scientific literature.
•   Contribute to project process within his/her scientific discipline.
•   Assist in identifying patentable inventions.
•   May assist in the training/mentoring of research associates and/or lab assistants.
•   Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

•   Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 2 years experience.
•   Solid understanding of laboratory procedures, equipment, and computerized data handling.
•   Solid understanding of GLP requirements.
•   Team-oriented
•   Flexible; ability to adapt to changing priorities
•   Good communication skills (encompasses verbal, written, interpersonal, listening)
•   Time management (schedules, timelines, task prioritization)
•   Attention to detail.
