North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca and Pearl Therapeutics to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

Pearl Therapeutics, a subsidiary of AstraZeneca, is focused on developing and manufacturing combination therapies for the treatment of highly prevalent chronic respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Pearl's products will offer therapies to patients and healthcare providers that will achieve better clinical outcomes. With the FDA approval and launch of Bevespi, Pearl is looking to expand our manufacturing capabilities in Redwood City.

Reporting to the Site Head and being part of the Site Leadership Team, this dual-focused role will support the Manufacturing Operations at Pearl's Redwood City site.

The Asset Planner & Project Lead is responsible for creating and maintaining a feasible and optimal supply and manufacturing plan over the 3 -- 24-month horizon for the site. This includes coordination between the manufacturing site and clinical and commercial demands from Pearl and AstraZeneca, as well as the Global Supply Team. In addition to the Asset Planner responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating various projects/programs at the site as well as the coordination and proactive management of projects at the site level as well as within the operations disciplines.

Additionally, as an Asset Planner you will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of a feasible and optimal supply plan over 3 to 24-month horizon while leading all planning activities for the site (Local Pre-S&OP process). Collaborating with Manufacturing, Materials Management, QC, QA, and Facilities to plan/modulate/monitor manufacturing output based on current and forecasted demands. Developing scenarios to accommodate supply and demand changes. Setup, monitor and reporting site KPIs and drive improvement for the site including: asset loading, lead times, plan adherence, days cover. Planning product changeovers & manufacturing shutdowns/restart. Accountable for Site volume and inventory forecast submissions as input to Business Plan, RBUs/ABU and phased budget. Propose, own and drive Supply Chain Improvements from a RWC site perspective. Represent the site in the Global S&OP process. Serve as site liaison and own the demand consolidation with Pearl Clinical Planning, AstraZeneca Sites, and Global Supply Planning to ensure visibility of site performance and uninterrupted supply to the business. Work with Global Supply Planning and site leadership to assess site capacity vs long term plans. Work with Finance to process purchase orders and invoices for shipments, and to plan and review inventory budgets. Analyze and report inventory actuals vs budget, including root cause analysis.

As a Project Lead/Coordinator you will be responsible for the proactive management of Operations-related projects while driving projects and deliverables. Facilitate project discussions and drive and track completion of action items. Hold individuals accountable for deliverables. Coordinate timely decision making. Communicate project progress to stakeholders and senior management. Act as Subject Matter Expert of SAP/APO systems implementation.

Requirements

Required:

* A BS degree in Business, Supply Chain, Science or Engineering
* 5 to 10 years of direct planning/scheduling and project management experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
* Proven track record of successfully leading/completing projects in manufacturing/supply chain organizations
* Strong oral and written communications skills
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
* Strong analytical skills and project management skills
* Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in SAP and Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
* Ability to travel as needed; successful candidate should expect to travel for training at other sites, both nationally and abroad initially (Ongoing travel beyond that will be < 10%)
* Demonstrated ability and flexibility to work independently on multiple tasks in a fast paced & dynamic work environment

Preferred:

* APICS and/or PMP certification

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

* Capable of operating a computer and sitting for extended periods
* Some lifting required 50 lbs. or less, occasional lifting over 50 lbs with materials handling tools and or assistance
* Have sufficient dexterity to don and doff clean room clothing over normal work attire
