The New York, USA site is seeking an Assay Development Scientist (Process Development), reporting to the Senior Director, CNS Pipeline.

The incumbent will be a key laboratory member in a dynamic and progressive team pioneering scaled manufacturing processes for the generation of therapeutic cells from pluripotent stem cells.  Hands on experience in the development of mammalian cell culture methods and use execution of cell characterisation assays is essential. Familiarity with cGMP aseptic manufacturing requirements is a plus.

Position Description:

The Assay Development Scientist will lead a team of researchers that develop and validate assays that lead to the qualification and regulatory approval of BlueRock’s pipeline candidates.
Experienced assay developer/validator with great attention to detail.
Provides strategic input into the selection of assays and tools incorporated by interaction with the Senior Director CNS.
Establishes robust and specific assays using gene expression, protein analysis, image analysis, flow cytometry or alternative methods.
Maintains detailed, auditable notes and records.
Attend and present corporate/scientific information at appropriate and relevant conferences and symposia.
Minimum Requirements:

Requirements

PhD. with 6-8+ years of industry experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with QA/QC systems
Familiarity with IND submissions a plus
Skilled in molecular biology, cell biology and analytical methods
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Team player
