AIRM has a world-class R&D team, and is pursuing a diverse range of disease indications, ranging from macular degeneration (currently in clinical trials) and other ocular indications to vascular and autoimmune disease. AIRM's intellectual property portfolio includes pluripotent stem cell platforms -- both embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells as well as other cell based therapy research programs. AIRM is seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as an Animal Research Technician. This position collaborates with a team of scientists and will work independently with multiple autoimmune and/or ocular disease rodent models to drive therapies forward.

Essential Responsibilities:

•   Strict adherence to established procedures
•   Rodent (primarily mouse) handling, ear notching/tagging
•   Daily observational monitoring and weighing of animals
•   Intravenous, intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, intravitreal, subretinal injections
•   Submandibular and tail vein blood draws, urine collection
•   Perfusion of mice and gross anatomical tissue harvesting
•   May be asked to isolate PBMCs, perform flow cytometry of immunofluorescence staining using established protocols
•   Detailed record keeping, data collection, tracking and analysis
•   Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
•   Proficiency using MS Excel
•   Oral and written presentations




•   Bachelor's degree, preferably in biological sciences
•   2+ years' experience in an animal laboratory setting
•   Reliable mode of transportation for regular travel between facilities (mileage reimbursed)
•   Flexibility to check on mice during weekends when necessary
•   Ability to work well with others as well as independently


•   Working knowledge of biologics
•   American Association of Laboratory Animal Science Certification
