Description

Job Purpose
Manage all aspects of technical and clinical development of Aqua vaccines in ED and FD phases.
Leverage scientific/technical expertise to address complex challenges. Lead scientific programs and/or international cross-functional project teams. Be an internally and externally recognized
scientific expert in a relevant discipline. Influence NAH R&D strategies and goals.

Major Accountabilities
• Manage the Aqua Development Project Portfolio by optimizing use of resources to deliver high quality, innovative projects on time and on budget.
• Lead or oversee IPTs to become high performance teams leveraging the expertise and contributions of members in an open and trusting team environment in which efficient collaboration and communication are encouraged in order to create a climate of shared accountability
• Ensure the effective and timely delivery of projects in accordance with the Technology Transfer Process with an emphasis on cross functional alignment on the management of risk, particularly
between R&D and Tech Ops.
• Report and present scientific/technical results internally and externally. Support creation of external publications and patents and present at scientific conferences or congresses. Write or support the generation of international registration documents. Interact with authorities where appropriate.
• Lead assigned associates including objectives setting, performance evaluations and development planning. Participate in recruiting process. Develop, mentor and coach other scientists within department.
• Act as a scientific expert in project teams and across functions and be a member on scientific advisory and review boards. Provide effective scientific and technical input influencing management strategic decision. Act as technical expert in the evaluation of in licensing opportunities
or due diligence.
• Lead by example and instill strong behaviors and values in all associates relating to Quality, Health and Safety and Animal Welfare.

Key Performance Indicators / Measures for Success
• Drives products through the development pipeline according to agreed timelines for completion of tasks, assignments, and/or objectives.
• Ensure a high quality of work consistent with NAH quality systems and standards (e.g. no major findings at internal or external audits).
• Support the Regulatory Affairs function in the timely preparation of high quality dossiers by delivering high quality technical documents according to agreed time lines.
• Timely, regular and accurate update of project management related databases and tools(e.g. Concerto).
• Support Head Research to ensure smooth transition of projects between POC and ED.
• Performance evaluations, target/objective settings and development planning for all direct and indirect reports according to guidelines.

Requirements

Ideal Background
Education:
University degree in veterinary or related sciences, PhD or other
postgraduate education, Masters in Project Management or
other formal Project Management Training.
Experience:
• 5+ years industry experience.
• 3+ years multinational and multifunctional leadership experience demonstrating a global mind-set and cultural awareness.
• Competence and experience in vaccines new product development.
• Advanced project management planning and tracking skills,
capable of managing multiple projects with respect to priorities
and self-management.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and information
management skills.
• Experience in direct and/or matrix people management role
with demonstrated ability to influence without authority
successfully.
• Expert skill in facilitating/optimizing the contribution of
diverse team members as individuals and as a team.
• Excellent track record of innovation, creativity, problem
solving and productivity in projects

Language: Fluent spoken and written English essential, additional language
desirable.
