Job Description


Essential Function:

Responsible for the accurate analysis of incoming raw materials and Finished product utilizing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), Nice Pak’s Test Methods (NPTM), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Assures all test have met the required specification criteria prior to release.  Maintain accurate, complete and traceable documentation related to analysis and disposition.

Scope:

This position requires an individual who is knowledgeable on performing chemical procedures by following methodology and proper laboratory techniques.  Employee must be well organized and computer literate.

Position responsibilities:

1.   Performance of diversified chemical testing as needed by using NPTMs, SOPs, and WIs. On raw materials. The testing may include but not limited to: pH determination, viscosity, refractive index, specific gravity, etc.
2.   Conduct wet chemical titration to determine the percentage of activity on various solutions and raw materials.
3.   By the use of instruments (IR, UV, HPLC, GC Auto-titrator, etc.) determine the active percentage of various components as required by specifications.
4.   Perform identification of various chemicals or formulations as per methodology and requirements.
5.   Ensure that all results are accurately recorded in appropriate laboratory logs or other designated forms.
6.   Under supervision, purchase analytical supplies.
7.   Prepare solutions and titrants when required.
8.   Clean laboratory at specified intervals by following appropriate SOP and/or WI.
9.   Perform calibration, reading, and recording of instruments within the Analytical Lab.
10.   Prepare and maintain laboratory test solutions.
11.   Test incoming raw and customer supply material and assure that all the required certification required is accurate and within specification.
12.   Determine products’ disposition.
13.   Complete necessary forms.
14.   Assist in the sampling, testing and release of raw materials when needed.

Requirements


Equivalent Education Level Requirements:   

•   Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, other related science
Experience Required:   
•   A minimum of 1-3  years’ experience in a laboratory environment (Analytical Chemistry Lab preferred)

Knowledge Required:

1.   Must know Computer (word, Excel...)
2.    Good communication skills
3.   Minimum knowledge of LIMS.
4.   Demonstrate ability to perform work accurately and be able to follow test methodology.
