To extend our Industrial Biosciences’ team, we are looking for:

Administrative Assistant/Patent Administrator

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Administrative Assistant/Patent Administrator supporting the Intellectual Property team located in Palo Alto, CA.


The primary responsibilities for this position include:
•Provides administrative support to the Chief IP Counsel including calendar management, making travel arrangements and completing expense reports
•Coordinate agendas and arrangements for IP related meetings.  
•Manage key contact lists for the IP Team, including internal and external contacts.  
•Learn all aspects of filing and prosecution of patent applications with the USPTO and other foreign patent offices and supporting patent attorneys in those areas.
•Docketing US and foreign prosecution matters, and updating and actively managing attorney dockets.
•Proficient (or must be able to learn) in USPTO searches and being able to assist with patent acquisition requests for due diligence
•Able to manage and maintain litigation documents and opposition folders.
•Assisting with special projects.
•Other duties as required

Requirements & competencies:
•Minimum of 4 years relevant working experience preferably in a legal environment
•Experience supporting executive in fast moving and dynamic work environment with high demand for travelling, jugging multiple components, and businesses.
•Demonstrated working knowledge of SAP is a plus.
•Strong computer and internet research skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Lotus Notes
•Ability to work well with all levels of internal management, staff and external partners
•Excellent communication skills, flexibility and being a good team player are a must
•Outstanding organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and ability to multitask and prioritize projects
•Strong attention to detail
•Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team driven environment
