Position Summary:
The Account Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving existing customer relations and for establishing new accounts from incoming leads from the company’s marketing efforts. This position will be responsible for increasing profitable sales of consumable products and services to qualified prospects thereby meeting or exceeding the Company revenue goals. You will be working with various technical and business development team members to move prospects through the sales funnel often requiring the expertise and information from them to provide answers to customers. This position will contact prospects, negotiate to close sales, be responsible for the operational analysis of customer pricing and projects.
Working in this position will require excellent communication skills including the ability to give presentations, the experience to sell, resolve account issues, resolve accounts payables issues along with the ability to respond to e-mails, voicemails and all types of leads and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
Job Duties
Regular position duties are to to contact or call on customers, track leads, manage the sales funnel, schedule & organize daily tasks, functions and duties to yield maximum sales results from efforts.
•   Develop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical R&D management, toxicology, and other ancillary medical professionals, along with supplier partners in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, government and university organizations.
•   Evaluate and communicate product and service needs for assigned accounts.
•   Complete all required administrative duties, including but not limited to all daily / weekly reports to management to communicate results.
•   Ability to apply consultative selling skills.
•   Field sales experience that includes pharmaceutical laboratories is preferred.
•   Ability to multi-task.
•   Articulate communication skills, in person, over the phone or in web conferences.

Skills and Abilities
•   Proven sales track record with CROs or into the drug discovery markets is preferred
•   Track record for account management
•   Ability to learn and obtain a working knowledge of the Company product and services and their relation to drug discovery within the pharmaceutical industry
•   Proven abilities managing new product roll-outs
•   Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales funnel management
•   Maintain key customer relationships and develop then implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base
•   Ability to utilize PC software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint to track sales data
•   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•   Acquire knowledge to understand pricing and operational systems


•3-5 Years sales experience and success in pharmaceutical markets is preferred

•Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences or related field and lab work preferred

•Detailed knowledge of the drug discovery/drug development process and department relationships

•   Strong sales experience
•   Project management experience within a team environment
•   Strong negotiation skills

•   Intermediate to advanced Word and Excel software skills
•   20% travel
