Description
The Molecular Sales Specialist will demonstrate and sell Biocare Medicals innovative line of molecular pathology products to pathology and histology laboratories, in hospitals, reference laboratories, and government accounts, nationwide. This includes working with existing named accounts as well as prospecting for new customers, qualifying leads, and training customers after the sales. Products include a rapidly expanding line of in situ hybridization kits and a Multiplex IHC tests solving complex clinical problems on one slide.
In this position, the Molecular Sales Specialist will act as the technical molecular expert for assigned Account Managers. They will work closely with territory Account Managers to ensure revenue growth from reagent rental agreements, achieve sales growth targets and product placement goals for assigned territories and achieve at least the minimum number of required weekly sales calls.
The Molecular Sales Specialist will work closely with the Marketing and Product Management team to provide full product information on all Biocare Medical Molecular Pathology products to customers through product demonstrations and sales presentations to high level executives. They will maintain information and knowledge of competitors and their products and develop, qualify and follow through on sales leads from Account Managers, trade shows, Sales Managers, Marketing personnel, Field Service personnel, etc.
You will also assist in training Account Managers on Molecular Pathology Products and assist to provide accurate reporting on sales, as requested.
Requirements
Experience required:
- Bachelors of Science or higher degree in a life science or technical related discipline or equivalent. Molecular Biology experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the daily workings of a clinical laboratory
- Proven ability to present to high level laboratory/hospital executives
- Ability to communicate technical information
- Minimum of seven years successful sales experience selling medical diagnostics products to hospitals and laboratories
- At least four years of successful sales experience selling capital equipment to hospitals and reference laboratories, would be useful
- Strong planning and organizational skills; proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and influence others
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, with practical working knowledge of MS Office programs required.
Extensive travel is required (80-100%).
