Financial Analyst III


A key financial advisor and partner to business leaders (Lead Discovery and BioPharma Services (BPS)) and striving to take on leadership role within the Bioscience finance organization.

Provides both, short-term and strategic, financial decision support

Manages all areas of financial responsibility, including but not limited to financial control & reporting, forecasting, business analysis, resource allocation and capital planning for three sites-Dundee Services, BPS Europe, and BPS North America.


Position Responsibilities



1. Proactively identifies and communicates areas for operational and financial improvement within the Services operations and contributes to meet/exceed SBU performance.Provides site management with valuable business insights, based on high-quality data analysis. Partners with business managers on initiatives that improve operating and financial performance.

2. Supports business decision making on a wide variety of operational matters through fact based analyses. As needed, leads cross-functional teams on important Operational initiatives, like Service Costing and Pricing, streamlining Service Invoicing and Billing, Resource allocation & Capacity Optimization and supporting Process Excellence Project

3. Leads the management reporting process to provide Business leadership, with timely reports on business performance and related business insights.

4. Manage all financial matters that support achievement of strategic and operational objectives; more specifically:

- Monitor the business trends and providing analysis and recommendations (i.e. Month and Quarter Close, Margin Deep Dive Analysis, Spending detailed analysis)

- Lead financial planning process within the SBU. Provides transparency into business drivers, risks and opportunities. Maintains ''balanced'' approach under the pressure of managing multiple priorities as well as communicating a clear finance strategy to the team (i.e. Improve forecast accuracy)

- Provides relevant data, analysis, and fact-based recommendations(i.e. Ensure all investment projects have appropriate financial models/analyses and valid business case assumptions. Capital Expenses are well documented)

5. Direct responsibility for maintaining the appropriate environment of internal financial controls in all aspects of the Business.Ensures consistent implementation of the Companys accounting policy throughout the business.Pays particular attention to areas requiring judgment and estimation.Is ultimately accountable for the accuracy ofthe businesssfinancial results in accordance with US GAAP.

6. Develop and document standard financial processes, with a focus on implementing common financial processes and practices globally across the company.Through process improvement and organizational design, improve the efficiency of the finance function and improve finance integrity.

7. Works and manages effectively across the companys matrixed organization.Promotes effective lateral communication and coordination across groups, within the SBU and the Finance function, to improve efficiency and achieve desired results.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Education & Competencies

1. Bachelor degree in Accounting plus 4-6 years related experience or MBA plus 2-3 years related experience. Experience in Service Industry is essential. Life Sciences Outsourcing Industry experience is ideal.

2. Strong business analysis, financial planning and reporting skills that generate business insights that add measurable value. Knowledge of financial systems, preferably hands on experience with Oracle ERP system

3. Must be capable of collecting, assimilating and synthesizing relevant business/operating information and data to develop fact based recommendations and support business decision making.

4. Ability to initiate, lead and deliver change with a proven track record in implementing process improvements and cost savings initiatives. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment, and capable of gaining commitment and coordinated action for initiatives.

5. Capable of working in a team environment and partnering with operations.

6. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated track record of effective performance management and developing staff and future leaders.

Strong workload prioritization, project management and resource management skills.

7. Knowledge of US accounting regulations, company accounting policies, and company internal controls, with unquestioned integrity in the application of such standards.

8. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
