Description
Program Manager spends the majority of his/her time managing major programs and projects in support of CV Global Packaging and Labeling Services. Successful candidate will manage a number of projects / programs simultaneously while collaborating across the global organization. Work will be accomplished through a variety of cross-functional employees/teams and the program manager will have direct accountability to lead and achieve program objectives. Responsibilities for the position will focus on complex on-going projects including driving strategic initiatives across not only P&L but other cross functional areas such as Operations, Supply Chain and Supplier Quality.
Position Responsibilities:
* Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion in areas such as packaging and labeling development / processes, manufacturing packaging processes and systems as well as regulatory and technology driven initiatives
* Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
* Acts as primary contact for program activities, leading program review sessions across sites and with leadership to drive progress, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
* Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing requirements.
* Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, quality, manufacturing and administrative areas.
* Uses influence and negotiation skills to drive projects to completion across organization where there may be resistance to cooperate or participate
* Ensures projects are managed on schedule and within budget as erroneous decisions or failure to execute program activities will result in moderate impact on business and/or objectives. Program decisions are generally made only after consultation with higher level management.
* Collaborates in the development of objectives and design. Initiates programs or projects based on identified business and/or tactical needs. Recommends new or modified policies, procedures, and processes.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree in Engineering or related discipline and 8+ years of medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated industry.
* Working knowledge of package development process including package engineering and labeling
* Broad based knowledge of Manufacturing Operations, technology, process improvement, Quality and Quality systems
* Excellent project management, communication and influencing skills required
* Expertise in DFLS and Lean Sigma a plus
* Familiarity with FDA Quality Assurance requirements for design and manufacturability
* Experience with Word, Excel, Project, Powerpoint, Visio and other PC based applications are required.
* Experience with automation equipment, setup of automated packaging lines, and computer interface associated with automated lines is desirable.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
BS and MS degrees in Packaging Engineering or related Engineering Discipline and 10+ (or more years) of medical device packaging experience. Prefer experience with sterile, implantable medical devices. Experience with automated packaging equipment and lines. Experience with database driven labeling systems. Experience with process development and design of experiment (DOE) methodology.
