Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing our clinical sample acquisitions, helping shape clinical trial protocols and interacting with and managing external clinical research organizations. Will report to Director, Portfolio and Development Management, S&I
Job Accountabilities
1. Manages, tracks, and troubleshoots a series of related trials within single or multiple diagnostic programs.
2. Works with medical leadership to identify clinical program and sample requirements.
3. Performs ongoing vendor management, including independent negotiation of scope of work, budgets, performance management and issue resolution.
4. Identifies program risks; proactively creates and implements mitigation strategies.
5. Represents Clinical Operations function as a member of a matrixed cross functional team.
6. Collaborates effectively with cross-functional management committees and external partners.
7. Reviews staffing needs and communicates with management to ensure adequate resources are assigned to achieve program deliverables.
8. Develops, implements and manages program-level budget and timelines; tracks and reports study metrics; communicates initial budget and changes to review bodies as appropriate.
9. Provides timely and accurate information to Project Management for program level tracking.
10. Serves as primary contact for functional area representatives in managing protocol execution.
11. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of vendor and site payments.
12. Oversees forecasting of clinical supplies.
13. Manages trial-specific collaborations with other entities (Clinical Research Organizations, Institutional Review Boards, etc)
14. Creates and manages clinical trial budgets and staffing/resourcing plans.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's Degree (advanced degree preferred) with a minimum of five years of diagnostic clinical research experience, preferably in multiple therapeutic areas.
2. A minimum of three years experience with accountability for managing study budgets, interacting with clinical research organizations, timelines and resources.
3. Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP's) and International Conference on Harmonization. (ICH) guidelines; Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) knowledge helpful.
4. Some travel required
