Description

Position Summary:
Perform bench-scale downstream process development experiments, assemble data, and assist in the writing of technical reports. The experiments will involve column chromatography using AKTA Explorer and Pilot, tangential flow filtration using manual and automated equipment, lyophilization and crystallization. Analytical HPLC will be used for sample analysis.

Requirements

Required Skills:
Working knowledge of downstream processing procedures (in two or more of: chromatography, filtration, lyophilization, crystallization)
Excellent laboratory documentation practices
Ability to work cooperatively
Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Additional Selection Criteria:
Ability to program methods in Unicorn
Analytical HPLC skills
GMP manufacturing experience
Technical writing experience

Required Education and Experience:
Level will be dependent upon education and experience. Requires a minimum of 3 years experience with a B.S. in a relevant scientific (eg Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology) or engineering (eg Chemical) field. Experience must be in the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry.

Work Environment:
Process Development laboratory and office.

Physical Demands:
Typical laboratory work requires walking, periods of standing, light lifting of material equipment, and fine manipulation of manual tools. Both laboratory and office work require use of computer keyboard and mouse.
