Senior Oracle Clinical Programmer
Responsibilities:
Clinical Programming (CP) resides within the Data Management and Programming Function in the Department of Biometrics, Health Outcomes and Payer Support (BHOPS) in US Medical Affairs. Members of the CP group work as part of the Study Management Team (SMT) to create patient databases for use in US Medical Affairs sponsored clinical trials, or manage the creation of these databases by selected external vendors. In addition, CP writes programs using a variety of tools to support monitoring and cleaning of the patient data from our clinical trials. The technical skills of the members of the CP group are also key in supporting the processing of data for the Exploratory Data Analyses (EDA) work conducted within the department. The senior CP Analyst is accountable for quality and timeliness of project deliverables, as well as their suitability to the intended task. A Senior CP Analyst communicates effectively in coordinating problem resolution efforts with implementation team customers and functional peers.
REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a minimum of five years of SAS programming and/or clinical database programming (Oracle/Clinical, Medidata Rave, Phase Forward INFORM) with a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. The candidate must have advanced skills in SAS programming language, including the data step, SAS/macro language, PROC SQL and Report Writing. He/she must also have thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and the requirements for development, testing, documentation and QA of programming code are essential.
