Position Summary:
The Medical Directors primary responsibilities will be to provide scientific and medical input to strategic objectives for the ecallantide program. These will include development of the Pediatric Investigation Plan for the European Medicines Evaluation Agency (EMEA), preparation for end of Phase 2 meetings with FDA and EMEA, analysis of STS database and (subject to agreement from Health Canada) analysis of the BART database. In addition the Medical Director will begin drafting the Phase 3 protocols and will take a lead role in reviewing the study reports for CONSERV-1 and CONSERV-2. When time permits the Medical Director may assist the Senior Medical Director in reviewing safety data and coding etc. from the CONSERV-1 and CONSERV-2 trials. May also assume a role in assessment of BD opportunities when appropriate.
Requirements
Must have detailed experience in clinical research, either in an academic or clinical environment or within the pharmaceutical industry. Ideally candidate will have 2-3 years industry experience. Candidates from an academic background will be required to show an understanding of the industry environment and perspective. Candidates also must demonstrate a track record of strategic thinking, proven scientific writing, strong inter-personal, and exceptional communication skills.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in clinical research.
Work Environment:
- Work will generally be conducted in the Lexington offices of Cubist Pharmaceuticals. Occasional travel within the United States, and rarely overseas, will be required.
