Biotech Beach - Best Place to Live and Work. The following is a list of the most populous metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) in the United States for the Biotech Beach (TM) Hotbed community. This community highlights the organizations that comprise the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries in Southern California.
The six-county region of Greater Los Angeles is home to about 900 life science companies. Ista Pharmaceuticals, Stason Pharmaceuticals, and Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc. are just to name a few of the life science companies found in this MSA.
