  • Jobs in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, and Diagnostic Industries
  • Companies, Real Estate, Schools
  • With more than 330 days of sunshine a year, Scottsdale, Arizona (JOBS)is a wonderful city in which to live, work, and play. The cultural mixture of Navajo and Spanish has given the city its own flavor – in culture, food, and architecture.

For fun, take a morning trail ride across the Sonoran Desert and through the McDowell Mountain foothills. Or go rafting down the Salt River or kayak across Saguaro Lake. Or hit the golf courses – one nearby gated community has its own course, but there are plenty of other great greens open to the public. Or take the kids to one of several amusement parks, which hint to Scottsdale's Wild West days such as McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park and Rawhide.

Scottsdale is also home to the world's largest annual Arabian Horse Show, where more than 2,000 horses compete for the title of Scottsdale champion. Other horse shows are also annual events in Scottsdale, housed in WestWorld – an equestrian event building with a giant arena and other facilities. Horseback riding is also a popular past time with many of the city's residents, who have quick access to a number of ranches in the surrounding area.

There is a little of everything for the 202,705 residents of Scottsdale. In Old Town Scottsdale, visit the blacksmith shop or one of many restaurants. Horse-drawn carriages with costumed drivers take tourists to see the sights, but it's a great place for residents to go walking as well.

And since Scottsdale is the premier leisure travel destination of the Southwest, there are plenty of resorts, spas, and activities to keep you occupied … and pampered! And since it's located on the outskirts of Phoenix, the larger city is always close at hand. The Scottsdale Airport will also make the rest of the country easily accessible to you.

Surprising to some, Arizona is a place where biotechnology, medical device and diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies are thriving. You will find a variety of companies across the large state, some of which are, AmpliMed Corporation, Capstone Therapeutics, ImmuneRegen BioSciences, Inc., IMULAN BioTherapeutics, INSYS Therapeutics, Biomarker Technologies LLC , Chromosomal Laboratories, Inc., and InNexus Biotechnology Inc.

To unify the bioscience industry in the state, the Arizona BioIndustry Association works to promote the growth of bioscience companies in the state through advocacy, by building connections, and workforce development.
