Boca Raton (JOBS) is located in Palm Beach County, Florida, 29 miles (47 kilometers) south of Palm Beach and 22 miles (35 kilometers) north of Fort Lauderdale. The city is set along the Atlantic coast, and has five miles (eight kilometers) of beach frontage.
The community is generally affluent, and there are shopping facilities to keep everyone happy. Head to Mizner Park, a mixed-use development centered around a Spanish-style courtyard, where you can shop, dine, visit the Boca Raton Museum of Art, or take in a show at the Centre for the Arts. Boca Raton has a park system covering approximately 1,080 acres (437 hectares). The Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District operates several facilities, including, to name two, the Sugar Sand Park, which includes fields, trails, a roller hockey rink, a playground, and a community center housing the Children's Science Explorium and the Willow Theatre, and Red Reef Park, with public beaches, picnic areas, a golf course and the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex. And for a real day in the outdoors, Boca Raton is just a few miles east of Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge.
