Naperville is home to a number of historic and scenic attractions. Naper Settlement recreates a 19th-century village, and features many authentic pioneer buildings including a firehouse, chapel, and blacksmith shop. The Naperville Riverwalk offers five miles (eight kilometers) of winding paths, along with picturesque covered bridges, gazebos, and playgrounds. Next to the Riverwalk is Centennial Beach, a former quarry that has served as the community's swimming pool since 1931, and also offers paddleboat rentals and a sandy beach that's ideal for a game of beach volleyball or relaxing in the sun. All of the above sights, along with the city's Historic District, and downtown business and shopping districts can be seen aboard the Naperville Trolley Tour.

For a day of family fun, visit the DuPage Children's Museum, where the little ones can learn about science through a series of exciting exhibits and activities. Rotary Hill is a popular place for sledding, and also serves as the site of many special events. At the base of Rotary Hill is the 158-foot-high (48-meter-high) Moser Tower Millennium Carillon. One of the few large, concert-quality carillons in the world, this instrument is made of 72 bronze bells, with the largest one weighing nearly six tons.

For some great summertime entertainment, head to the Riverwalk Amphitheater to enjoy fantastic outdoor performances, or walk the labyrinth path embedded in the amphitheater's stage. More local entertainment is provided by the Comedy Shrine. This fine improvisational comedy troupe has worked with many other troupes from around the world, and provides Naperville residents with fun and laughter six times a week. Still want more?
