About Montgomery College
Established in 1946, Montgomery College is an accredited, public two-year college with campuses in Germantown, Rockville, and Takoma Park, Maryland. Serving students from over 160 different countries, Montgomery College is the oldest community college in Maryland. The Germantown Campus opened in 1978 and offers a variety of career and technical education programs to support those who are entering the workforce as well as academic credit courses and transfer programs for students ultimately seeking a baccalaureate degree. An increasing number of continuing education courses are now available from the campus.The Germantown Campus offers a variety of biotech programs spanning the education and training continuum from middle school teachers through post-doctoral students as well as continuing education and professional development. Among the College's many degree programs are an Applied Associates Degree in Biotechnology and an Associates Degree in Science with a concentration in Life Science.
Montgomery College-Germantown is currently in the planning stages of building a Life Science and Technology business park to complement its biotech educational offerings. The million square foot business park will be built on 40 acres of the 227 acre campus. Adjacent to the business park, the College will also be building a new Bioscience Education Center.
