Zyomyxis pioneering a versatile platform technology to innovate and advance proteomics. Zyomyx' approach will, for the first time, bring to proteomics a highly parallel and high throughput analysis capability that was essential to the advancement of genomics. The company has successfully integrated protein biochemistry with advanced materials science and microfabrication to create the first miniaturized biochips containing high-density arrays of functional proteins. This permits thousands of measurements to be conducted on very small and complex samples. These measurements include protein concentration, protein structure, protein function, and protein interactions. The ability to conduct these highly parallel and sensitive measurements on proteins will play a critical role in the discovery, development and possibly even the commercialization of a new generation of drugs. Zyomyx' lead product is the Protein Profiling biochip designed to identify and validate novel drug targets, biomarkers, and new therapeutic and diagnostic entities.
