DURHAM, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Yukon Medical, LLC, a medical device firm located in Research Triangle Park, NC, is proud to announce it has received a grant under the 2010 Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project (QTDP) for their SmartMix™ delivery platform. The IRS, in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services, approved applications for projects that showed significant potential to produce new and cost-saving therapies, support jobs and increase U.S. competitiveness. The program was created by the US Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and oversaw the allocation of $1 billion in tax credits and grants for the 2009 and 2010. Assisted by its accounting firm Langdon & Co. of Garner, the grant application submitted by Yukon resulted in an award of $244,479.25 in furtherance of its “development of a safe, effective and efficient method for reconstitution of lyophilized drugs and biologics.”
