Susan G. Komen for the Cure's 10th Annual Mission Conference Opens

WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Susan G. Komen for the Cure's 10th Annual Mission Conference, Ignite the Promise, will take place Aug. 26-28 at the Marriott Crystal Gateway Hotel near Washington, D.C. More than 1,000 participants, including breast cancer survivors and activists, breast health professionals, research scientists and political leaders will shed light on current trends in breast cancer research, highlight superior outreach and education programs and engage in dialogue about cancer's place on the national agenda.

Events of particular interest include a keynote address featuring Komen for the Cure Founder Nancy G. Brinker and Komen Chief Scientific Advisor Dr. Eric Winer on Sunday, Aug. 26 at 8:15 a.m., breakout sessions on topics such as clinical trials, patient navigators and data sharing throughout the conference, and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney addressing attendees during the keynote address on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 8:25 a.m. See below for more information on a forum featuring presidential candidates responding to questions posed by Komen on Monday, Aug. 27.
